Dr David Butcher is an international art consultant and exhibition curator based in Paris and Provence. Of British and Australian origin, he studied fine art (Claremont School of Art) and art history (University of Western Australia and Australian National University) in Australia before continuing his post-graduate studies in art history in France (Sorbonne University) where he obtained a doctorate.

In Australia David worked for 13 years as a conservator in State and National museums before moving to France in 1989. Bilingual (English/French), he draws on his fine art background and museum experience, supported by art historical knowledge and market research, to provide a tailor-made range of services to an international clientele.

While having a broad art historical knowledge, David specializes in the Modern Period (1850-1950) with a particular interest in Neo-impressionism, Pont-Aven, Nabis, Fauvism, Cubism and School of Paris.
